Brakes
Pads, rotors and the full brake job, on foreign and domestic cars alike. We tell you what actually needs doing now and what can wait.

4 G's has been fixing Highland Park's cars from the same two bays on Avenue 50 for years. Brakes, tires, oil, A/C, transmissions and real engine work. You get told what needs doing now, what can wait, and what it will cost, in plain language.
What we do
Tune ups, brakes, full service and tires, all of it on foreign and domestic cars. We would rather sort the one thing that is actually wrong than sell you a list.

Pads, rotors and the full brake job, on foreign and domestic cars alike. We tell you what actually needs doing now and what can wait.

New tires fitted, plus puncture and flat repair while you wait. Pull in with a nail in the tread and you will usually be back out quickly.

Full A/C repair and service on the shop's own recovery and recharge equipment, including the newer R1234yf systems.

Check engine lights read and traced properly, through to internal engine work when that is what the car actually needs.

Routine oil service, filters and tune ups. The maintenance that keeps the expensive repairs from ever showing up.

Transmission service handled in house, covered by the same nationwide warranty as the rest of the work.

The repair is warranted for 2 years or 24,000 miles, and that cover travels with the car rather than staying on Avenue 50. It is the same promise the shop has had painted on the front of the building for years.
“Timely, honest and fair. They have been wonderful and reliable and I absolutely recommend their services.”

The shop
4 G's was built by a mechanic his customers describe, in their own reviews, as decent and honest. After he passed away his son took the shop on, and the people who have been coming since 2015 say nothing about the standard changed.
Day to day you will deal with Robert, Carlos and Marisol. What customers write about them, over and over, is that they explain the car in a way you can actually follow, and that they help you work out what to fix first when everything cannot be done at once.
It is a working garage, not a showroom. Two bays, a lift, a wall of tires, and enough capability to take a cylinder head off when that is genuinely what the car needs.
“The prices are the best in LA and they work with you on prioritizing on what should be worked on first.”

This is my go to auto shop! I've been a customer for years and always feel well taken care of. Robert, Carlos and Marisol help you feel at ease, go out of their way to explain car parts/mechanisms in a way that I can actually understand. The prices are the best in LA and they work with you on prioritizing on what should be worked on first. Getting a car repair can feel daunting and that's why I refuse to go anywhere else, they're the best! Thank you for always taking care of my '12 Subaru Forester!
Really nice! Stopped in with a flat and they patched it quickly. Stopped another time when the splash guard was falling off the bottom and she helped me cut off the bad part and fastened the rest for free. I tried to give her 20 at least but she said no worries. What a great neighborhood shop.
I've came here a couple of times and they have been very helpful. Today in specific the mechanic named Robert helped me out with a nail in my tire and a headlight. He was so kind, helpful, and very fast! The prices here are also great! I highly recommend.
I have been taking my cars here for years and they are the best! Timely, honest and fair. They have been wonderful and reliable and I absolutely recommend their services.
It's been a few months since I have been here and I found out about the owners passing. It really made me sad to hear the news as he was a very decent mechanic that was honest. His son is now running the business, and he is just as honest as his Dad was. I hope you all come down and get your car serviced from 4G. I have been coming here since 2015 and have never had issues with their services. Great place and great prices.
